Family Care

TBCH not only supports the children in our care; we also provide resources for families in our communities. Many of our children’s family members have experienced similar traumas in their lives and simply have not been equipped or had the support system to enable them to thrive. To that end, we connect churches with counseling services, parenting training, and other supports to empower them to change the trajectory of the families in their congregation.

The Family Care initiative of TBCH has grown out of our desire to provide pre-placement as well as post-placement services to children and families. We want to provide training for parents who are parenting hurting children. The staff of TBCH is well trained to equip families and churches with tools such as Trust Based Relational Intervention. We also want to connect families with a network of trauma based counseling services which is crucial to the long-term well being of children and their families who have faced various types of trauma.
